Digitizing the Upham Map

M. Results of Georeferenced Digitizing

With the Upham map now georeferenced, the points and features of the map were now re-digitized to produce a coverage that is exists within a geographic coordinate space, and which can be overlaid with other geographic data sources.

ABOVE: Results of digitizing features from georeferenced map image.
ABOVE: The georeferencing of the map and newly digitized points allows us to overlay contemporary features, like the current street network, on top of the map image. BELOW: Digitized points above overlain on top of aerial photography. Note that the blue dots represent where Upham placed the points, not where the aerials reveal those points to be.
